Primary Function:

Creates the master travelers (writers) and reviews other masters for completeness and accuracy. Assist Quality Manager and Lead on day to day processes. Responsible for training Inspectors for receiving processes.


Receive parts from clients and other material from suppliers and inspect for damage. Prepare repair documents utilizing our computer software and required procedures(s). Become competent in the use of measuring devices and hand tools. Become familiar with ISO policy and procedure. Maintain specifications and manuals.




Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Log in, inspect and analyze parts that are shipped/mailed in from other companies or clients for service.
  2. Read repair instructions and produce repair (Traveler) documents.
  3. Contact customer for information, etc.
  4. Work at a computer console entering parts. Become familiar with computer software system (Pentagon).
  5. Be able to use measuring tools, e.g. calipers, micrometers, etc.
  6. At times, using a power hand tool to mark parts.
  7. Use chemical cleaners on parts.
  8. Occasionally sandblast parts.
  9. Have knowledge of and understand the ISO Quality Policy.
  10. Have knowledge of and understand the Control of Non-conforming product.
  11. Have knowledge of and understand the ISO Procedures that apply to their specific job.
  12. Maintain specifications/manuals.
  13. Assist inspectors as needed.
  14. Use protective equipment when appropriate.
  15. Have knowledge and understanding of Appendix A. Safety Procedures.
  16. Keep your work area clean and orderly.
  17. Obey company rules and comply with the required dress code.
  18. All other duties as assigned.






Physical Requirements:

  1. Lift parts up to 80 lbs.
  2. Move (using a hand truck or fork lift) boxes up to several hundred pounds (always get help).


 Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  1. Must have H.S. Diploma or GED.
  2. Must be capable of reading blueprints.
  3. Must read and write the English language.
  4. Should have basic computer software and keyboarding skills.
  5. Should have intermediate mathematical skills (Concepts and calculations involving decimals, percentages, fractions, etc.)
  6. Prior work experience in receiving/shipping helpful but not required.
  7. Prior knowledge of ISO Quality Policy and Procedure a big plus.
